CHRISTMAS ROUND-UP
Y5 PERFORMANCE AT THE COLSTON HALL
Year 5 pupils performed alongside a number of other Primary schools in the Christmas event at the Colston Hall, organised by Kingsfield School.

The new entrance to the Colston Hall is certainly impressive. Our children performed brilliantly, behaved well and looked very smart. We know from past years that this is an experience they will always remember and a fun evening was had by all. A junk drumming band from this school performed a solo item which was very impressive.-especially Simon drumming on a shopping trolley!
Y6 PERFORMANCE AT CLIFTON CATHEDRAL
Y6 sang as part of 1,000 children’s voices in front of dignitaries at Clifton Cathedral. Here is an example of the stained glass windows-it is a very impressive venue!

EYFS & KS1 CHRISTMAS PLAY-THE VERY HOPELESS CAMEL
This was a magical performance. The costumes and the achievement of such very young children were outstanding-they even managed to come back twice for evening performances and stay awake! There were some nice photographs in the Bristol Evening Post.
ENRICHMENT
All of the children in Key Stage 1 and EYFS made a Christmas cake thanks to the generous donation of ingredients by parents! The children mixed, cooked and iced their cakes and all were beautifully presented to parents at the end of term. A fantastic achievement. Just look at the cakes!

LETS GET COOKING
We have been awarded a grant for cooking in Key Stage 2 from Spring onwards, thanks to Mrs Arblaster and Mrs Flanagan’s efforts. We know that the children will love it!
Y3/4 PERFORMANCE TELL ME A STORY SHINING STAR
Pupils in Y3/4 danced, performed and sang with gusto at their Christmas Concert. Their enthusiasm and teamwork were fantastic. Well done to all concerned.
CAROL SERVICE
Our Carol Service was not very well attended but as this was the first time we have held a Carol Service, we have learnt from the day that it needs to be a more sociable event. We did invite the neighbours, as part of our Community Policy and I think that some came along. We will develop this more next year.
PARTIES
There was a disappointing amount of party food. For the past two years children have had party food in place of the usual school dinner because they were overeating during the afternoon after a lunch just a hour or so earlier. This has been successful but it is dependent upon parents sending a donation of ‘healthy’ food. Next year we will ask pupils to bring a lunch box of healthy food to share and this will help to get a good range of items. Thank you to those parents in particular who responded to our text requesting more food before 12pm. The response was terrific!
CHRISTMAS DINNER
The take up of Christmas dinner was impressive. Thanks to the Kitchen Staff for presenting such a lovely spread.
CHRISTMAS FAIR
The Christmas Fair raised over £1100 for the school. FANTASTC! The PTA have recently donated items for classes and we have installed a ‘Ball Wall’, which they paid for. There will be a full breakdown in the spring of items purchased by the PTA
