Year 3 at the BBC!

We were invited by the BBC to take part in one of many activity days they are running to transform the space in front of the broadcasting house into a wildlife garden. The BBC are working with Avon Wildlife Trust as part of the new My Wild City campaign which aims to inspire people to make homes for wildlife in the city.

During our visit we made bird feeders using apples and sunflower seeds, pine cones and cheese. We were taught about British birds by TV presenter David Lindo and explored the area to see which birds we could find.

The children had a wonderful time and were very excited to share all that they had learned. Did you know that a group of hedgehogs is called a prickle?

All creatures great and small!

This term, Year 2’s topic is ‘All Creatures Great and Small’. For homework, they have researched the Arctic, and have created fact files about animals that live there. Here are just a few!

They have also been working hard on their story writing skills, using the character of the princess from their class text. As you can see, the children have been working very hard!
