Year 2 had lots of fun burning their 17th Century houses this week. We made them in Design and Technology using cereal boxes and cardboard. We took them outside and put them all together so that our fire would spread, just like the Great Fire of London. Mr Newman began the fire in the Bakery shop on Pudding lane and we enjoyed watching it spread. Mr Newman and Ms Porter had to throw water over it to stop the spreading as we were worried it was going to burn the trees and we’d have a Great Fire of Kings Forest!
We had a magical time on our trip to Leigh Woods. All of the children thoroughly enjoyed making dens, climbing inside a hollow tree and walking across fallen trees. We were very proud to have completed three more of the National Trust ’50 Things to do Before You Are 11 ¾’.
Thanks to all of the Mums and Dads who accompanied us, we couldn’t have done it without you!
